Zoom Instructions for Meetings of Creditors with Chapter 7 Trustee Kimberly J. Husted

The full instructions for how you will attend your 341 meeting are emailed to Debtor Counsel and Pro Se Debtors approximately 2 weeks prior to the scheduled meeting.  This email has attachments to be read and includes a link, though parties can use the meeting number and passcode on the Zoom Instructions page.  If you did not get the email, it means you didn't provide an email address on the documents filed with the court.  For attorneys, the email I use is the one I have on file and which accesses the portal you used t upload required document prior to the meeting.

You may double-check your meeting date and time by visiting the court website at www.caeb.uscourts.gov clicking on the "341 Meeting" tab on the right of the screen.   The order in which cases will be heard within each hour will be adjusted with a finalized calendar being sent the day before the meeting to the email address on file.

The invitation may say the meeting begins at 9:00 am but it will be a continuous meeting.  If you are scheduled for 10 am or later please sign in to join the waiting room about 5 minutes before your calendared time.  Please refer to the email sent to you for further instructions.

Before Your Meeting

Before your meeting date you must provide proof of identity. You must provide copies of an original photo identification and copies of an original proof of social security number.  These must be provided to Trustee Husted, along with all documents required by section 521,  NOT LESS THAN one week prior to the date the meeting is set.  Attorneys should upload the copies of photo identification and social security number via BlueStylus and debtors without an attorney must email it to [email protected].

Also, please make sure that all debtors have read the Bankruptcy Information Sheet provided by the UST. Debtors will be asked about this at the meeting of creditors.

Explanation of Reason for Procedures

In the middle of March 2020, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California entered a general order  closing the courthouse for all visitors. Normally, 341 meetings of creditors were conducted at the courthouse in a specified meeting room. While the courthouse has since reopened, in person 341 meetings have not been sanctioned. The 341 examinations, meetings that have been conducted for three years by telephone or Zoom are currently being transitioned fully to Zoom in pilot programs nationwide.  Trustee Husted began Zoom procedures for cases assigned to her in June 2023.  During this transition we will try to exercise patience with you and we ask that you be patient with us as we work to help you meet the requirement of appearing at a 341 meeting of creditors.

If you run into any problems or issues with appearing at your 341 meeting of creditors during this time, please send an e-mail to [email protected] or call  (916) 635-1939 (you should call this line BEFORE the date of the meeting of creditors if you have any problems with a ZOOM appearance).
