Your interview is scheduled with several other cases in the hour.  For that reason this first interview will actually take just a few minutes.  If I feel there are issues we need to discuss in more detail or if there are documents that have not been provided, you will be scheduled for a "Continued Meeting" in approximately 2 weeks.  Those continued meetings may be just a "technical" continuance for me to review an amendment or late filed information, or it may be a opportunity for the Trustee or other Creditors to ask more in depth questions.

For appearances before your Judge the court website has instructions for you to set up CourtCall or Zoom at least a day in advance.  You may also appear in person at the courtroom indicated.  Note: Courtcall may require a payment to the service for the Call.

Whether you are the Debtor filing Bankrutpcy or a Creditor owed money there is a great deal of relevent information on the Court Website at:

www.caeb.uscourts.gov

Creditors can file a claim electronically from this website.  Please provide attachments to your claim to support it (when debt was incurred, why the debt is owed, relevent documents signed).  The on-line claim filing will allow upload of pdf attachments with your claim.

If you are a former employee of a business debtor and you are filing a claim for unpaid wages, please attach a redacted (e.g. black out your social security number and bank information) copy of your last pay advice (pay stub/check stub) to validate your claim for wages owed.  You can claim pre-petition hours and vacation time/PTO earned.  Sick time is not compensable.  For any commission you believe you are owed you will need to supply some additional documentations.  There are no fines or late fees considered so please don't add any additonal amounts you believe a civil court would have awarded or multiply your damage claim.

Debtors - you should review the informaiton for Debtors on the court website and the General informaiton tab on this site.  You may have questions about the process that can be answered by visting the Pro Se Debtor Helpdesk which is held each Friday on the 3rd floor of the Federal Courthouse where you filed your paperwork.  That is 501 I St., Sacramento CA 95814.  The Help Desk is first come first served and runs from 9:00 am to Noon.  You can also use the computer terminals there to access documents filed with the court in your case.  You may also consider contacking McGeorge Law School and their legal clinic before you file your case.  The student assistance there is free and very helpful.
