Attending The Meeting

  1. These meetings will be conducted using Zoom Meetings by video. (https://zoom.us/) Zoom is easy to use and can be used on almost any smartphone, tablet, or laptop computer with a camera.

  2. All parties should be able to appear using their own devices. There should be no need for debtors to be physically present with their counsel, but they may do so, if they wish and it does not violate guidelines currently in place.

  3. Internet usage. It is ideal to have a broadband connection to the internet (such as through wifi or something similar). You can use a mobile connection (through a cellular carrier, for example), but if you have a limited amount of data, this could use a fair amount of your data. To conserve data usage, you may turn off your video until your case is called. But it is important that your video is turned on for your meeting.

  4. Attorneys and Debtors (who have supplied their e-mail addresses) will be sent an e-mail explaining how to appear. You should click on this link right now with the device you intend to use to make sure you have the correct software on your device. (There is no cost for your use of the software.) If you have not previously supplied your e-mail address to the Trustee, please do so now by sending an e-mail to [email protected] . Make sure to include your name and case number and the date for your 341 meeting of creditors.

  5. Before joining the meeting, please do all of the following:

    • Make sure that you are in a quiet place and that you can hear and be heard on the call.

    • Please be in an appropriate location and wear appropriate attire.
    • In Zoom, there is an option to “Test speaker and microphone” that comes up when you first join a call. Please do this test and make sure you can hear and be heard.

    • Make sure you have your driver’s license and social security card available.

  6. When you join the meeting, it will ask you for your name. Please put your full name. Spouses appearing on the same device should put both spouses’ names. Creditors should preface their name with “Creditor."

  7. If you join the meeting before it has started, you will be placed in the “waiting room.” While in the waiting room please make sure to adjust your audio so that you can hear and be heard (using the "Test speaker and microphone" feature). Once the meeting is ready to start, the trustee will bring you into the meeting room for the 341 meeting of creditors. The trustee will probably call roll first with all participants and then will likely put all participants into the waiting room while each individual case is called. Please stay on the line during this time. Your case will be called, even though it may take a while to get to your case.

  8. Creditors should review the Creditor tab (to the left) and follow the instructions on that page. Creditors should indicate which case (or cases) they want to appear on by sending a chat message in the chat box once they are in the Zoom meeting.

  9. While in the Meeting DO NOT PUT YOUR PHONE ON HOLD as any background music will be distrubing to others.
  10. Your ZOOM connection, by hour of meeting, is set forth below.

What to do if you have trouble accessing the meeting through Zoom: Please immediately send an e-mail to [email protected] or call Kendra at (559) 230-1095.
